Memcached in Cloud Hosting
The Memcached data caching system is available as an optional upgrade with every Linux cloud hosting offered by us and you will be able to begin using it the moment you activate it, since the PHP extension that it needs so as to work correctly is already present on our avant-garde cloud website hosting platform. You can order the upgrade from the Hepsia Control Panel, which comes with each web hosting package and a new section where you can manage Memcached will appear. The upgrade is divided into two parts – the number of instances and the memory, so as to give you more freedom. The first one refers to the number of the websites which can use Memcached, whereas the second one, which is offered in increments of 16 MB, defines the maximum size of the content that the system can cache. A traffic-heavy site with a large-sized database may require more memory in order to take an even bigger advantage of Memcached, so if you would like to upgrade this service, you’ll be able to do it at any given point with a couple of clicks of the mouse.
Memcached in Semi-dedicated Servers
If you buy one of our semi-dedicated server packages, you’ll find Memcached as an optional feature in the Upgrades part of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, so if you would like to use it for any of the sites hosted in your semi-dedicated account, you can enable it with only a few mouse clicks. The data caching platform is perfect for any script-based web app such as Joomla™, WordPress, or even a custom-developed app, and based on your demands, you’ll be able to choose two separate things – how many sites will use the Memcached platform, i.e. the number of instances; and how much content will be cached, i.e. the amount of system memory that the platform will use. The two features are not bound to each other, so if you run a regularly visited site with lots of data, you can get one instance and a larger amount of system memory. The Memcached caching platform will boost the performance of your sites soon after you activate it and both you and your visitors will enjoy faster loading times.
Memcached in VPS Servers
Memcached comes by default with all VPS servers that are ordered with our custom Hepsia Control Panel. The extension it requires in order to work properly is compiled when the VPS server is configured, so you can start using the object caching platform the moment your brand new virtual server is completely functional. The memory that the Memcached caching platform can employ depends on the particular VPS plan, but even with the low-end plans, several hundred megabytes will be at your disposal exclusively for this platform. This will permit you to optimize the overall performance of multiple sites hosted on the VPS server at the same time and to reduce the load on the virtual machine even if you manage data-loaded script-powered web portals with many visitors. The platform can be used with any script – Mambo, Joomla™ or Drupal™, or a custom one, and you will observe the better overall performance soon after you begin using it.
Memcached in Dedicated Servers
You can use the full potential of Memcached with each and every dedicated server that we’re offering in case you select Hepsia as your hosting Control Panel. A special Control Panel section is dedicated to the distributed memory object caching system and you can start using Memcached for any Internet site hosted on the dedicated server with only several mouse clicks. You can improve the overall performance of any site, no matter what script-based application you’re using or how large the Internet site is, as the minimum amount of memory that Memcached will be able to employ is three gigabytes and this amount grows seriously with the higher-end servers. Soon after the system is activated, it will start caching content each time somebody opens your site, so, once enough information has been stored, you will see the lowered load on your dedicated server and the improved performance of your website. Memcached is used by a lot of websites, including popular portals like Wikipedia, Zynga and Reddit, which shows the efficiency of the Memcached system.
